Spring in Iowa, cold, hot, windy, calm, sunny, rainy, and of course snow. No weather is off the table. Welcome to the Pella Roubaix. Modeled after the European spring classics housed over Northern Europe, this event is sure to challenge you physically as much as mentally. Although it does not boast the cobbles of the French countryside, it will take you through the rolling hillside of multiple counties in south central Iowa. This is a multi-surface venture of both gravel and county paved roads alternating back and forth throughout the ride.
The ride will have a mass start at Iowa Bike Co. in downtown Pella starting at 10 AM. There will be a neutral roll out of town. Riders can register for A or B categories. These categories are at your discretion. Category A should consist of competitive riders. Riders will be at a fast, race pace. Category B should consist of sportive riders. Riders should have a good, consistent pace. Please pick the category that best fits your pace and capabilities. The course will be roughly 100km and will end in Pella. This is a self-supported ride and you are responsible for you. There will be opportunities for stops along the way if necessary as well as a checkpoint on course. Awards will be presented for top 3 in each category. Course will be sent to registered riders prior to start.
