The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) will be making its return in July 2024.
The ride is expected to draw tens of thousands of bicyclists to the Hawkeye state for its 51st year. The route participants will take and the communities that will host overnight stays have yet to be revealed.
Organizers have unveiled the logo for the 2024 ride, which is prompting many Iowans to make predictions about the next route.
KTVO spoke with Ottumwa’s tourism office about the chances of RAGBRAI returning to Wapello County.
"We have already submitted our application to be one of the RAGBRAI overnights," said Laura Carrell, executive director of MeetOttumwa. "We haven't been an overnight stay since 2016. So, each year they change where the routes are going to go north, middle, and south. So, this year they're doing a southern region."
