Thousands of cyclists are eagerly preparing for the 51st edition of RAGBRAI, the iconic ride across Iowa. The official route has been unveiled, , which will take riders across the southern part of Iowa for the first time in 5 years.

Riders will make an overnight stop in Mount Pleasant on July 26, before making the final stop in Burlington to dip their tires in the Mississippi River on July 27. In anticipation of the event, towns along the route are gearing up have started recruiting vendors, planning entertainment, coordinating logistics and finalizing details.

“We have Music Entertainment Group and Burlington riverfront entertainment, we know there’ll be heavily involved, as we look to provide musical backdrop to the event. You know, we’ll look at food vendors will work with our downtown merchants and businesses,” said Chad Bird City Manager of Burlington.
