On Our Radar

The last few weeks have been super-cycling busy for the middle of Winter in Iowa!

Iowa Bike Expo - We helped coordinate the largest consumer Bike Expo in the Midwest with the Iowa Bicycle Coalition on Jan 27th in Des Moines. If you haven't been to it yet, you need to make plans next year. Over 130 vendors were exhibiting with full state programming all day long. More at

Then that evening was the RAGBRAI LI Route Announcement Party. The 51st for the state's flagship cycling event. It will be 434 mile Southern route and the hilliest route on record with 18,741 feet of climb. More on the route and each town.

On Tuesday, Jan 30th was the Iowa Bicycle Coalition's Iowa Bicycling Day at the Capitol, where we met with our legislators and supported safe cycling with the hand-free distracted driving bill.

Last Saturday, we raced fat bikes (no snow) at the 7th Lake Macbride Fat Tire Classic which raised $11,000 for the community of Solon. This Saturday, we'll attend the Raccoon River Valley Trail Association Annual Fundraising Banquet in Adel.

In the works - We are again hosting the Iowa Spring Classic Gravel Race in Cumming on March 23rd. Cumming. This is one of three Spring classic-styled gravel events. The other two are the Colfax Gravel Bonanza Fondo on March 16th and Pella Roubaix Spring Classic on April 20th

In May we are bringing back the Cruiser 100 Ride. It will be branded differently this year, but it is the only 100 mile Cruiser ride in the USA! Yes, the ride is open to all types of bicycles, and will be a great opportunity for a first-time century!  More to come soon on the dates and details.

EXPO SALE CONTINUES - Even after the Iowa Bike Expo, we are still over-stocked!  We have some phenomenal sale prices on most items in the store! Limited stock, so grab your gear now!

More on the Expo Sale here.

- We just brought in a new "color-pop" headband, three new coozies and a cool "piston power" sticker. We are working on more designs and styles. Stay tuned!

Pogie Lites - Our Pogie Lites are still very popular across the USA. They are a 4-season super-lite-weight, water-resistant, wind-proof pogie that keeps the wind, rain and muck off your hands. Basically a wind-breaker and micro-climate for your hands.

Seen our BACKROOM store yet? This is the destination for designs that have transitioned from the main store. It's also spots where we try new products and design, so check back often. More about the BACKROOM.

Thanks for using BikeIowa
