The Daubindiek Park Trail is a one mile loop around Daubendiek Park in southwest Jefferson.  The park partially sits in the floodplain of the Raccoon River, and the trail may not be rideable when water is high.   That said, it's a peaceful, beautiful setting with several scenic pullouts that overlook the river.     If you take the Raccoon River Valley Trail up to Jefferson from Des Moines, it's a great place to rest and have a picnic lunch before heading back to the big city.

Location - Where is this Trail?

The Daubendiek Park Trail is located inJefferson near the intersection of West Russell and South Grimmell Streets.  If you're on the Raccoon River Valley Trail, head west on Russell pas the town's only stoplight and then down the hill onto gravel.  Daubendiek Park is on your left at the bottom of the hill.

The only trailhead is a parking lot with restrooms on West Russell Street just east of the intersection with South Grimmell Street.
